Can we just TALK ABOUT DAMON SALVATORE FOR A SEC? His brother is constantly criticizing him and his motives, urging him to “prove himself,” even though Damon’s actions over time have shown how good of a person he has PROVEN HIMSELF to be. Elena chose his brother over him, even though Damon was there for her through anything and everything. His best friend just died and he has no one left to talk to. And the rest of mystic falls seems to hate him because Damon isn’t capable of good in anyones’ eyes but Elena’s and Alaric’s (and sometimes not even in Elena’s and Alaric’s dead…) So the guy’s ALONE. And wanna know the reason he stayed back and didn’t high tail it out of town because his BEST FRIEND DIED and he DIDN’T GET THE GIRL? Because he has to take care of “the kids.” He feels responsible for them and despite all the shit he’s been put through, Damon’s still there. 

And the sad thing is, he’ll always be there. Ugh I love him so much and I just want him to be HAPPY for christ’s sake.
